The 68- hour Medication Aide program prepares students to administer medications in Assisted Living Facilities. Skills students will acquire include: Proper procedure for preparing, administering and maintaining medications; Aseptic techniques; Basic pharmacology; Assisting client with self-administration of medication; and Documentation. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the Virginia State Board of Nursing competency exam for licensure as a Registered Medication Aide.
